We are recruiting a Senior Software Engineer (Python) to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry
NOTE:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work on the software development for various next-generation connected vehicles
- Developing software for our next-generation automotive, emphasizing middleware application development that connects various Electronic Control Units
- Work in an Agile SW development environment to support software system integration using modern Automotive standards and technologies
- Coordinate, integrate, and test operating system and software components being updated by internal and external teams and vendors
- Define, implement and test suites using Python
- Support the development and improvement of integration tools using Python
- Perform manual tests to assist software development
- Share ideas for innovation and process improvements
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer or Electrical Engineering or related technical area (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.)
- 5+ years' experience with testing and python development
- Experience with software development and work through the development lifecycle
- Strong ability for troubleshooting and problem solving
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Thrive working in a fast-paced and technically challenging environment
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Linux/QNX operating system CLI proficiency
- Working knowledge of AUTOSAR, CAN technologies, automotive diagnostic protocols
- Experience with build system (Jenkins), source control system (GitHub), and defect tracking system (JIRA)
- Experience with git source control management, Eclipse or similar integrated development environment, and Docker
- Experience with embedded software integration
- TCP/IP understanding and examination (Wireshark)
- MQTT and service-oriented architectures
- Ability to work in a multi-site team environment where self-driven and self-motivated capabilities are key initiatives
- Proactive and interested in learning new tools and technologies
