Job Description

We are recruiting an experienced Senior Operations Supervisor to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.

NOTE:

  • 100% onsite
  • Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date
  • Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise unionized experimental mechanics supporting testing operations
  • Plan, coordinate and prioritize experimental mechanic activities to meet testing operation objectives in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Comply with the collective bargaining agreement
  • Be integral to the path to Zero Injuries
  • Supervise group of experimental mechanics performing test setup, test rig maintenance and other operational functions
  • Develop and modify standard operating procedures and work instructions for activities, tooling and equipment
  • Supervise in accordance to the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Oversee experimental mechanics preventative maintenance program for automotive testing equipment
  • Prioritize tasks and manpower based on urgency and workforce availability
  • Maintain accurate hourly timekeeping records, vacation and time off requests
  • Perform workplace inspections to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Procure parts, materials and rentals as required to complete tasks
  • Track data for KPI and KAI performance targets
  • Maintain good supplier/customer relations with internal customers and outside suppliers
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials and equipment

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certificate of Qualification as an engineering technologist or any trade designation
  • 5-10 years of supervisory experience in an industrial setting
  • Experience with automated equipment with preference to automotive assembly or automotive component testing would be a benefit
  • 5-10 years of experience in a unionized labour environment
  • Technical knowledge of automobiles and electric vehicles would be a benefit
  • Willingness to accept a wide variety of assignments
  • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, OH&SA Regulations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software, ability to learn and operate other computer based and web-based programs
  • Strong project management, organizational, teamwork, written and verbal communication skills
