Job Description

We are recruiting an experienced Data Engineer to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.

NOTE:

  • Onsite
  • Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally, without restrictions, effective on the start date

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop data processing solutions for extracting insights from EV battery packs as well as to develop test scripts for various development tests
  • Initially the role will be focused on training, documentation and launch of the lab; will be required to complete all needed training and follow all lab safety processes and procedures
  • Work with stakeholders to develop test data management and processing solutions, and assist battery test engineers in the commissioning of the new battery lab
  • Test data management, developing workflows for automated data processing, analyzing, visualization and reporting
  • Close collaboration with test engineers, automation engineers and test requestors to dig insights of test data, help internal customers gain the most value from data and potentially support their developmental and validation programs
  • Support lab operation initiatives, such as enhance lab operation efficiency and reduce costs

Lab launch stage:

  • Complete required training and adhere safety requirements
  • Collaborate with Company IT and machine supplier on strategize and deploy data management solutions
  • Develop data processing solutions to support the commissioning and acceptance tests

Lab in full operation:

  • Develop robust solutions for processing test data, extracting insights of results and generating reports for standard validation tests and specific developmental tests
  • Continuously iterate on solutions to enhance accuracy and efficiency
  • Implement common processes and implement best practices among various battery labs within Company Group
  • Support test engineers on presenting data insights during test project meetings as required
  • Support initiatives aimed at enhancing lab operation efficiency and reducing costs
  • Keep training record up to date
  • Escalate issues to management when necessary

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, or related engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in scripting for data processing, automation, and analysis
  • Proficient in MATLAB, VBScript and Python scripting
  • Experience in writing scripts with Python and/or MATLAB for data processing, analyzing and visualization
  • Know about EV batteries performance characteristics; open to learn if no previous knowledge on battery
  • Solid understanding of database management and data modeling
  • Solid understanding of standard programming principles such as OOP, and overall proficiency in documenting and writing scripts efficiently/cleanly
  • Proficient in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines that support AI and machine learning workflows
  • Proficiency in Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to ensure data is clean and structured
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent skills to write clear, concise, and accurate documents
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master of Science in Computer Science, or related engineering
  • Hands-on experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-Learn
  • Proficient in AVL Concerto
  • Stay updated with advancements in data processing and management technologies
  • Knowledge of Lithium-ion battery testing and characterization
