Job Description

We are recruiting an experienced Design Release Engineer (Body Closures) to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.

NOTE:

  • Hybrid
  • Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engineering, design, development, timing and validation of side door sheet metal assemblies
  • Packaging all the directed components along with analyzing the design to ensure it meets requirements
  • Work with the extended vehicle team for production implementation
  • Execute component standardization and reuse, DVP, best practices and lessons learned and will maintain functional objectives, DFMEA's, DVPR's and standards, and competitive benchmarking
  • Support launch and product validation activities with frequent visits to the assembly plant, labs, and supplier facilities
  • Self-starter with strong leadership and communication skills and demonstrated problem-solving ability

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master’s degree is an asset
  • 3-5 Years experience in Body in White and/or closures Engineering Experience
  • 3+ Years experience with Team Center and Siemens NX
  • Proficient in MS-Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, GD&T
  • Strong Engineering Design Project Presentation Skills
