Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Quality Plant Engineering Lead to join our team supporting our client in the automotive industry!

NOTE:

  • 100% onsite
  • Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date
  • Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Main working relationships:

  • Daily Operational Production meetings with the Quality Plant Engineering Manager, the team, and the control tower to deal with quality issues/production
  • Weekly meetings with FQM manager
  • Weekly meetings with Supplier Quality Development, ENG/CCLP Cross Car Line & Project, MFG/VPE/GAPE to coordinate the progress of the 7 diamonds
  • Convening the site directors/quality managers of the most failing supplier sites. Meetings with suppliers

Operational Context

  • Contribute to improving the quality level of new and customer vehicles in a context of ever more ambitious quality objectives
  • Autonomous in the decision (or to lead if necessary) to modify the automotive product or the process to guarantee the quality of the vehicles
  • Support the Quality Plant Engineering Manager in deciding to hold vehicles and market vehicles
  • Autonomous in the convocation and animation of suppliers, represents the Company with suppliers
  • Avoid increasing outstanding rework areas (issues on retouching costs and customer delivery time)
  • Define containment actions to apply for customer protection (including supplier Issues)
  • Vehicle issue diagnosis and root cause analysis
  • Ensure that the team carries out the pre-analysis activities on time
  • Risk assessments and lead corrective action plans
  • Guarantee the product–process maturity of the components of perimeter management of serial life (windows change management).
  • Propose alternative product solutions in case of issues (such as shortage) to avoid stopping mass production in the plant
  • Participate in Quality ENG tech clubs
  • Implementation of good ideas and standards (Read Across)
  • Ensure the right application in the plant of the technical requirements and the meta function “métiers” standards of perimeters
  • Ensure the management activities of the team (daily management control meeting)
  • Ensure that the team is working safely
  • Lead quality KPI management to achieve quality objectives, driving improvement/corrective actions and escalation
  • Resolution of systemic/chronic or major quality issues (Top Warranty, Recalls)
  • Technical support Yard Holds / Product Related Issues (PRI’s) technical referent inside the PRI
  • Set-up / On-going Controls for Process/product Standards for Vehicle & System Functional Objectives (i.e. ADAS, BSR, FEA)
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related degree field
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience
  • Previous experience in an Engineering Department, Vehicle/mechanic Plant or Project team
  • Ability to lead an Engineering team to deliver product changes and launches on time
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective actions
  • Strong Leadership; influence and challenge the team to achieve goals
  • Ability to communicate; represent technical challenges in front of senior leadership; and develop strategies to resolve complex problems
  • Technical Awareness; Familiar with automotive electronic systems including modules and how to troubleshoot; and investigate problems
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal from high-level Meetings to the shop floor
  • Ability to work off-shift hours as necessary
  • Self-motivated and directed
  • Ability to thrive in a high-intensity environment while working on multiple projects
  • Great responsiveness to meet quality and production requirements

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree
  • Green belt
  • World Class Manufacturing experience
