On behalf of our industry-leading client, we seek an Application Engineer to work with clients and develop solutions to their molding needs.
NOTE:
- Must be willing and able to travel to the USA and Mexico, without restrictions, effective on the start date
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with customer to create hot-runner solutions for complex injection molds
- Analyze data collected regarding customer concerns to improve hot-runner component manufacturing and design improvements
- Create reports and attend meetings to explain details of projects, feasibilities and proposed solutions to customers and team members
- Communicating with different departments within the company to address day-to-day operational requests and challenges
- Liaison between internal design team, production and the customer to ensure customer needs are met
- Support injection mold try-outs at various facilities as required
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 - 10 years of experience in injection mold design
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Spanish an asset
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve while working with customers and internal staff
- Ability to mentor junior staff to ensure customer demands are met
- Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
- Understanding of plastic part design
- Hands-on knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical
- Previous work involving hot-runners and systems that control the hot-runners an asset
- Knowledge of mold temperature control systems
- Working knowledge of steel types used to manufacture injection molds, as well as the resin used in injection molding
